: Chuckii Booker

87If Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis had any sonic disciples during the New Jack Era, Chuckii would have to be voted one of the “most devoted” in sound. Chuckii’s excellent work with Troop ("My Heart," "Spread My Wings," "All I Do Is Think Of You") earned him his own debut album (on which “Turned Away,” his biggest hit would be spawned), and a gig as music director on Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814 Tour. In 1992, Chuckii returned with Nice & Wild, featuring “Games”, a masterpiece in sonic melancholy. After his second album, Chuckii hasn't been heard from, but it has been reported that he owned (or still owns) a studio in Glendale, CA called "Aire LA."

Other song highlights from Nice & Wild include: "Love is Medicine" and "You Don't Know."
