Hall of Fame: Don Newkirk
Newkirk was one of the few R&B artists signed to Def Jam in the 1980s after the departure of Rick Rubin. As a label, Def Jam has historically not had much success in the R&B genre producing breakthrough artists, and unfortunately the Newkirk album was no exception to this trend. However, to New Jack Swing die-hards, his inclusion on this Hall Of Fame is warranted.
