Hall of Fame: Kool Moe Dee

Kool Moe Dee was one of the first rappers to truly embrace Teddy Riley's production - and hits such as "How Ya Like Me Now" and "Go See The Doctor," are perfect examples of this. Perhaps best known as an 80s rapper who feuded fiercely with LL Cool J (note the flattened Kangol under the jeep's front tire), Kool Moe Dee was a member of early 80s hip-hop trio, The Treacherous Three. Kool Moe Dee was also known as a skilled battle rapper and freestyle artist and is considered a pioneer of the artform to this day.

By 1986, Kool Moe Dee had established himself as a solo artist, and with the albums I'm Kool Moe Dee (1986), How Ya Like Me Now (1987 - his most successful), Knowledge Is King (1989), and Funke Funke Wisdom (1991), his music career almost perfectly traced the New Jack Swing Era.
