The Mac Band
Comprised of the four McCampbell brothers, this L.A. band enjoyed moderate success with their one and only big hit "Roses are Red" in 1988. The robust track was an onslaught of LaFace's seemingly effortless barrage of hits during 1988. Its combination of a catchy hook, innovative production, and flawless vocals made it soar to the top of the R&B charts. Unfortunately, their fame was very short-lived. Riding on the success of their self-titled debut, they would record two unsuccessful follow-ups in '90 and '91 and would eventually fold in '92.
