Unfortunately, the story of Chris Bender is a sad one in that he was gunned down before getting a chance to create more than his 1991 debut, Draped. However, this relatively obscure artist from the New Jack Era made his mark with those who are familiar with his music, which can be described as soulful and passionate R&B clearly influenced by New Jack Swing.
Two songs that Chris Bender is perhaps best known for are the ballads "Who Will I Choose" and "Spellbound." Chris Bender hailed from the Boston, Massachussettes area.
