Welcome to the "Past" focused section of the new Njs4ever.com

In it you will find a section for Music Videos which starting during the summer of 2003, before the emergence of YouTube and even Singingfool.com, was what initially made Njs4ever.com start to emerge from relative obscurity into an international brand. These days, we are thrilled that the record labels have figured out that there is an audience for music videos, and while we have chosen YouTube as our primary source of video embeds, we look forward to the possibility of hosting high quality videos on our very own servers, licensed directly from the record labels themselves. Until then, enjoy the videos.

In addition to the music videos section, you will also find a Hall Of Fame section, which is essentially a gallery of all the artists who either played a role in contributing to the New Jack Swing story (think: Guy, Bobby Brown, Al B. Sure!) or who were celebrated primarily during the New Jack Era (NKOTB, Paula Abdul, MC Hammer). This section has been broken up into segments that will eventually move past the New Jack Era into the Hip-Hop/Soul timeframe, and will most likely lead up to 2002. Prior to Wikipedia, this was the only place people could learn more about individual New Jack Swing acts, and now this site will continue to add an additional dimension to the story that others have overlooked.

Lastly for now, we have the History of NJS Era, which has yet to be duplicated by any other site. Originally written in 2001, these essays chronicle the cultural zeitgeist of the New Jack Era, through a New Jack-centric lens. While the essays currently span in coverage from 1987 to 1993, over the next several months, the remainder of the 1990s will be covered as well, since we consider 1987 to the "zero A.D." of modern rhythmic music. Once this project is complete, readers will be able to trace trails from an artist such as Bobby Brown all the way to an Usher, Ne-Yo, or Justin Timberlake. Or trace a trail from En Vogue to Destiny's Child. This section has also always been considered a favorite by those who have visited Njs4ever.com over the years.

So, take a look around...leave a comment, and let us know what you think!
